ABOUT US

Based in the beautiful Somerset countryside, Southcombe Brothers have been making and supplying gloves since 1847. One of Europe's oldest and largest glove suppliers, we continue to lead the industry in terms of design, performance and customer service. With our unique blend of traditional craft skills and specialised high-tech materials, together with our own tannery and manufacturing units, we can oversee the development of our gloves from first designs to the finished pair.

Made with the best materials, hand-finished and crafted with skill, our gloves come in a range of styles and prices to suit all requirements and budgets.

PRODUCTS

Southcombe Brothers pioneered the development of PYROHIDE®; a unique fire, water and chemical resistant leather which is exclusively used for our range of gloves and widely regarded as the leading product in the performance leather market. Our success isn't just down to leather; we also manufacture seamless knitted linings to the highest level of slash resistance currently recognised in Europe.

With our own ISO 9001 quality-assured tannery and production facilities, Southcombe Brothers are in a prime position to further develop the bounds of leather and glove manufacturing.

HISTORY

Richard Southcombe started the company in 1847 making fabric gloves. In 1873 due to increasing demand, a leather glove factory was built, where the company remains to this day. Over the next 160 years, the company expanded considerably but still remains a private, family-run company with Michael Southcombe as Chairman and his son David Southcombe as MD.

From small beginnings in 1847 right through to the twenty-first century, Southcombe Brothers continue to be at the forefront of glove and leather manufacture.
